Our Story

My wife and I both know what it is like to be hungry.
We each experienced homelessness at different points in our lives, and we both relied on food banks to get by. The produce we found there was rarely fresh. If vegetables were available, they were often wilted, bruised, or on the edge of rotting. We never forgot what it felt like to hope for real food and rarely see it.
Because of this, our mission is personal.
We believe everyone deserves access to high quality vegetables, not just people who can afford them. This is why we are committed to donating at least 10 percent of everything we grow to local food banks. Not the scraps. Not the leftovers. The same produce we sell to paying customers.
Our farm is built on respect for creation and the belief that food grown with care has the power to restore. We use regenerative and organic practices because they protect the soil, honor the land, and produce clean, nourishing food.
My own childhood was filled with instability. I grew up moving from place to place, never putting down roots, and rarely knowing what “home” meant. Through all those years I held onto a quiet dream of living on a farm, producing my own food, and building a life that was stable, purposeful, and grounded in faith.
Second Light represents that dream finally coming to life.
It represents renewal.
A second chance.
A new beginning shaped by faith and guided by Isaiah 58:10, which calls us to feed the hungry and lift others up.
This farm is still new, and we are building it from the ground up.
We are not fully established yet, but every week we take another step forward. Every garden bed, every row, every project brings us closer to the vision we are working toward. We want people to see that starting a farm does not happen overnight, and that good things grow with patience, faith, and persistence.
This farm is more than a business.
It is our family’s home.
It is where we raise our children, build our future, and work each day to create a life we are proud of. It is also a place where we hope others can learn, find community, and reconnect with the land.
